A structured process for sensitive details.
Working with KCO follows a clear arc: understand, assess, implement, sustain. Here is what each phase looks like, and what you hold in your hands at the end of it.
First, we understand your situation.
No forms to fill out alone, no software, nothing to prepare. The first phase is a conversation, and a written plan for what would come next.
A private consultation
You describe how your digital life is organized, what concerns you, and who depends on you. We tell you honestly whether we can help. There is no commitment and no preparation required.
A written scope and proposal
We prepare a short proposal describing what we would review and what you would receive, in plain terms. You know exactly what you are agreeing to before you agree to anything.
An engagement letter
When you are ready to proceed, a formal agreement makes the scope, the boundaries, and the confidentiality of the work explicit.
Then we build a complete picture.
Assessment before advice. We take the time to understand your accounts, devices, and family before recommending anything.
An intake questionnaire
A structured questionnaire you complete on your own time, covering five areas: identity and access, devices and accounts, recovery and continuity, assets and visibility, and physical and family readiness.
An advisor interview
We read your answers closely before we meet. The session, by video or phone, is where the picture fills in: we clarify what you have told us, work through the gaps, and draw out what a form cannot capture, like family roles, professional obligations, and the handful of accounts that actually matter most.
The Security Assessment Report
The result is a written report in twelve sections, scored across six domains. It states plainly what is solid, what is exposed, and the order in which to address it.
Then you work through it, at your pace.
The plan and its guides are yours either way. Some clients prefer to move through them on their own; others want an advisor working beside them. Either way, you are never guessing about what to do next.
Your Implementation Plan
The report's findings become a phased plan, sequenced so the most important protections are in place first. Each phase builds on the one before it.
A guide for every step
Every task comes with a plain-language walkthrough in your private client portal, with a screenshot for every screen you will see, written so you can follow it without an advisor in the room.
An advisor beside you, if you want one
Some of the plan is straightforward on your own. Some of it goes faster with someone beside you who has done it before. We work through as much or as little of it with you as you want, in scheduled sessions, and we will tell you honestly which parts are worth doing together.
And we make it hold.
The point of the work is what remains after it: a system the people you trust can actually use on a hard day, whether or not we are in the room.
Your Continuity Map
One map of your digital life for the people who may need to act on it: what exists, why it matters, where the recovery materials are kept, and who is authorized to use them. It holds pointers, never secrets, so the map itself is never the thing that puts you at risk.
Defined roles for the people you trust
The people you designate are given specific roles, and each role reaches only as far as it needs to. Someone who should simply know a plan exists does not see what an executor sees. Each has their own private access, opened only as far as their role requires, and no single person holds everything.
Your Digital Recovery Playbook
Step-by-step plans for the moments that matter: a lost device, a locked account, a compromised account, or a day when you cannot act for yourself. Each playbook names who acts, what they do, and where the materials they need are kept, and it is written so they can begin immediately without waiting to reach anyone. It never contains passwords or codes; those stay with you.
Your attorney working from the same map
Estate documents and digital access have to agree with each other. We prepare what your attorney, executor, or trustee actually needs: where legal authority stands, which of your accounts have a legacy contact configured, and what proof they will be asked to produce. Your estate plan and your digital plan stop being two separate things.
Ongoing advisory, if you want it
For clients who want a continuing relationship: annual reviews, a refreshed exposure snapshot read against your plan and what has changed since we last spoke, support through life events, and an advisor who already knows your situation.
If your phone, your primary email, and your password manager were all unavailable on the same day, could the people you trust still find the next step?
Recovery plans fail when they are locked inside the systems they are meant to recover. Before we call a plan finished, we trace every recovery path to the end and confirm that not one of them depends on something the emergency has already taken away.
Just as important: what we never do.
The boundaries of the work are part of the work. These are structural, not fine print.
Hold your passwords or codes
We never ask for, store, or handle passwords, recovery codes, or private keys. Playbooks reference where materials are kept; they never contain them. If you need somewhere to keep them, we help you choose a proper custodian: your own safe, your attorney, or a professional fiduciary.
Install software or monitor your accounts
No agents, no remote access, no standing connection to anything you own. When a session ends, nothing of ours is left running.
Take your accounts over
Every change is made with you, in systems you control. Nothing is handed over, and nothing happens without you.
Replace your attorney or advisor
We work alongside your estate plan, not instead of it, so the access your documents assume actually exists when it is needed.
Start with the systems that matter most.
A consultation is a conversation, not a commitment. We will walk through where you stand and what a plan would look like.
